Since its inception in 2008, Clark’s House has provided basic needs, like: food, shelter, and donated clothing to homeless veterans, “at risk” veterans and their families within the Polk County community. Their programs are geared to provide a “hand-up and not a hand-out” to veterans and their families. In 2013, Clark’s House was awarded the SSVF (Supportive Services for Veteran Families) grant for the first time. Since that time Clark’s House has assisted over 300 veteran families with obtaining and/or retaining permanent housing.
